Your data, privacy and deleting your account
Updated · 2 min read · By The ParSEO team
The short answer
ParSEO keeps what it needs to check and fix your site: your settings, the checks and their evidence, and the changes you approved. Its database area is private with row level security, site passwords are encrypted, and Google access is read-only. The account owner can delete the whole account from Settings; anyone else on the team can leave it.
Key points
- Google access is read-only.
- Publishing keys and passwords are stored encrypted, with the key kept apart.
- The owner deletes the whole account; other members leave it.
- Deleting can't be undone.
Step by step
Keep what you need
If ParSEO Edge serves your fixes, press Download your fixes on the Approvals page, so your web person can keep them.
Open Settings
Open Settings in ParSEO.
Delete the account
Choose to delete your account. The dialog asks: Delete your ParSEO account? This can't be undone.
Confirm
Press Delete everything. Other team members choose Leave account instead, and need a new invite to come back.
What ParSEO keeps
Your business details and settings, the searches and questions you track, each check's results and evidence (including pictures of your home page), the fixes and posts you approved, and your team's sign-ins. Uploaded files and screenshots are kept in a private storage bucket and served only through ParSEO.
How it's protected
- ParSEO's tables live in a private schema of a managed Postgres database, with row level security on every table.
- Connections to the database are encrypted and checked against the provider's certificate.
- Publishing credentials are encrypted with a key kept apart from the database.
- Search Console and Analytics access is read-only.
- No advertising or tracking cookies.
The full detail is on Security and in the privacy policy.
Deleting your account
The account owner can delete the whole account from Settings. It can't be undone. Before you do, download your fixes if ParSEO Edge serves them, and remove ParSEO's address from Search Console and Google Analytics.
