LocalBusiness schema
Updated · 2 min read · By The ParSEO team
The short answer
Structured data that describes a local business: its name, address, phone, opening hours, location and links.
LocalBusiness is the schema.org type for a business with a physical presence or service area. It has many more specific subtypes, such as Dentist, MedicalClinic, Restaurant, BeautySalon, AccountingService and LegalService; use the most specific one that fits.
Useful fields include name, address, telephone, openingHoursSpecification, geo, url, priceRange and sameAs (links to your official profiles). Everything in it should match your page, your Google Business Profile and your listings.
It helps Google connect your website to your business. It doesn't replace a Google Business Profile, which is what drives the map results.
In practice
In practice, put it on your home page or contact page, choose the most specific type for your business, and fill in only fields that are true and visible on the page: your exact name, full address, phone number, opening hours and website. If you have several branches, give each branch its own page with its own markup, rather than one page listing every address.
