What this shows

The number of websites linking to a site, the number of links, how many pass strength (follow) and how many do not (nofollow), the countries and endings they come from, and the ten strongest links, one per website, with the words each link uses.

Why links matter

A link from a trusted website is a vote of confidence Google counts. A few links from real, relevant sites help more than hundreds from sites that exist only to sell links.

What a good profile looks like

  • Links from real businesses, local sites and news.
  • Words that describe you, not only your name, and not stuffed with searches.
  • A mix of follow and nofollow.

Warning signs

Many links from sites with odd names, all from the same few servers, or with money-keyword words, often mean a paid link network. ParSEO's Backlink Audit lists them and writes the file that tells Google to ignore them.

What is nofollow?
